Gianni Chianetta

Gianni Chianetta is CEO of Global Solar Council and President of Worldwide Carbon Price. Serving as a founding member since 2015, representing ItaliaSolare as Vice President and Head of International Affairs, and as a Co-Chair of the organization, Mr Chianetta has been elected by the board to be Chair Elect in 2019, Chairman of the Global Solar Council and member of the Steering Committee at Irena Coalition for Action in 2020. Gianni Chianetta is also Founder & Director at Greening the Islands and CEO at The Green Consulting Group since 2013.

Mr. Chianetta has been working in the area of energy since 2002. He has been Managing Director at BP Solar Italy, founder and chairman of the first Italian Solar PV Industry Association for three consecutive terms when he negotiated the five Photovoltaic Energy Incentive Decrees with the Italian Government, that has brought the installed capacity from about 35 MWp to more than 20 GWp. He has also chaired the National Committee for Solar Energy of the Italian Ministry of the Environment and founded the Global Network of National PV Associations in 2007, which has been the basis for the GSC.

Mr Chianetta has a degree in Mechanical & Management Engineering and masters at: Middlesex University (London); Kellogg School of Management (Chicago); SDA Bocconi Milano (Milan); Istituto de Empresa (Madrid).
